The Next Chapter
One the greatest things that I read and have taken to heart is the phrase, "The decisions you make today will determine the story you tell tomorrow." Everything we do or do not do, every person we encounter or not encounter, even every thought we have or do not have determines things in our life. Some things are not very consequential while others have profound impact upon our life today and tomorrow.
As we think about Ruth's life we can definitely see the providence of God. Again, the providence of God is when God uses natural circumstances to bring about His supernatural will. How about your own life? Have you been able to see Gods providence in the past? Have you been able to recognize Him using natural circumstances to bring about His will in your life? I know I have for sure.
One thing that we can do to help ourselves move into the next chapter of our story is to look for the providence of God, have strategic plans and most importantly faith-filled prayers. Boaz, once Ruth asked him to be the families guardian-redeemer, made a plan to become that person for her and Naomi. Again, Proverbs 21:5 reminds us, "Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty." NLT
How many short cuts have you been trying to take instead of making a plan, working hard and trusting God? How often do you strike out on your own instead of truly seeking His will and way in your life? Spending time, an ongoing conversation with God, those faith-filled prayers make a huge difference in our life. It truly can determine the story you tell tomorrow.
As we approach the weekend I pray that you will make a plan, pray and look for God's providence in your life. That you will seek to follow His will and plan and allow Him to encourage your heart no matter what chapter of life you are in.
Enjoy the rest of this week and hope to see on Sunday. Remember two service times 9:00 am and 10:45 am. It is family worship Sunday and will be having communion!
