Keep Growing in Your Generosity
Sunday we started a new series on generosity and that relates to not just money but all of our resources. Our time, gifting's, and our finances. In 2 Timothy 1:1-7 and Genesis 2:7 we are reminded that God has breathed life into each of us and as His disciples we need to have the Holy Spirit stir up in us the gift or gifts that God has placed in us.
I asked the questions what are you doing with the borrowed breath that God has given us? As He has breathed life in us we have a short time to live our life, His breathes out in this world and we want to make those breathes count. I know for myself that I accepted His call to full time ministry as one of His messengers of the Gospel. To train, equip, correct, and help the body of Christ to make this life count. I have served Him these almost 30 years and my goal as I said Sunday is to hear Him say, 'Welcome Home! and Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant."
What about you? Are you living your life only focused on you, and your family or are you reaching beyond and using the breath, the gifts that God has given you so that others may come to know a relationship with Him, with others and to be generous with all that God has given.
I pray that as we move closer to Thanksgiving Day that we can be grateful and generous with what we have been given. That as we sit around the table and later that day that it isn't just about turkey and football but about the lives that we live in Him. Being truly grateful to God for all that He has given us to be good stewards over in this life with the borrowed breath He has breathed into us.
Looking forward to another life changing Sunday and hope to see you at 9 or 10:45 am.
