Don't Quit : Living Healthy Week 5
5-Day Devotional Based off of the Message:
Day 1: The Power of Small Faith Reading: Matthew 17:20; Luke 16:10 Devotional: Jesus teaches us that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. This isn't about the size of our faith, but about its consistency. Being faithful in small, seemingly insignificant moments compounds over time into something powerful. That daily prayer, that small act of kindness, that one dollar saved—these aren't trivial. They're building blocks of transformation. Today, God isn't asking you to move a mountain in one leap. He's inviting you to take one faithful step. What small act of obedience is He calling you to today? Remember: faithfulness in little things is a big thing to God. Your consistent drops of devotion will eventually fill an ocean of impact.
Day 2: Grace for the Journey Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:9; Galatians 6:9 Devotional: "My grace is sufficient for you" isn't just a comforting phrase—it's God's promise when you feel like quitting. You will mess up. Others will disappoint you. But grace creates space to keep going. Paul reminds us not to grow weary in doing good because harvest comes to those who don't give up. Grace isn't permission to stay stagnant; it's fuel for resilience. When you stumble, God's power is perfected in your weakness. Today, accept His grace for yourself. Stop disqualifying yourself from the race because of past failures. If God says His grace is enough, why won't you let it be? Receive it, rest in it, and keep running.
Day 3: Searching the Heart Reading: Psalm 139:23-24; Jeremiah 17:9 Devotional: The human heart is deceitful, and the person we lie to most is ourselves. That's why David's prayer is so vital: "Search me, God, and know my heart." Self-examination isn't about self-condemnation; it's about staying humble and open before God. When we invite God to test our anxious thoughts and reveal offensive ways, we prevent the toxins of addiction to distraction, defensiveness, and cynicism from taking root. This requires courage—the courage to see ourselves honestly. Today, pray David's prayer slowly and sincerely. Ask God to reveal what you've been hiding even from yourself. Let Him lead you in the way everlasting, one honest moment at a time.
Day 4: Godly Sorrow and Repentance Reading: 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 Devotional: There's a difference between remorse and repentance. Remorse says, "I'm sorry I got caught." Repentance says, "I'm turning from this toward God." Worldly sorrow brings death—it spirals into shame without change. But godly sorrow leads to repentance that brings salvation and leaves no regret. Our culture wants to relabel sin or excuse it, but until we see ourselves as sinners, we won't see our need for a Savior. Repentance isn't just feeling bad; it's a turning from what is lower to God's higher standard. Today, is there something you've felt remorse about but haven't truly repented of? Don't just feel sorry—turn around. God is waiting with open arms.
Day 5: GRIT to Finish Well Reading: Proverbs 9:9; 1 Corinthians 10:11-12 Devotional: To not quit requires GRIT: Grace, Resilience, Integrity, and Teachability. Grace for yourself and others. Resilience to keep doing good when results seem distant. Integrity so your private life matches your public confession. Teachability that keeps you humble and growing. Pride whispers that you've arrived, that you know enough, that you're exempt from falling. But Paul warns: "If you think you're standing strong, be careful not to fall." Cultivate God-confidence, not self-confidence. Stay teachable. Keep learning from His Word and godly people. Faithfulness compounds over time. After 30 years or 30 days, the goal remains: to hear Jesus say, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Keep going. Don't quit.
