The Faith to Forgive : Resentment Week 2

Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on the message:

Day 1: The Power of Forgiveness Reading: Luke 17:1-5 Devotional: Jesus teaches us that forgiveness is not optional for His followers, but essential. Today's passage challenges us to forgive repeatedly, even when it seems impossible. Reflect on a situation where you've struggled to forgive. How might your faith need to increase to extend forgiveness? Remember, forgiveness is not about forgetting or excusing the wrong, but about releasing the burden and trusting God with justice. Pray for God to increase your faith and give you the strength to forgive as He has forgiven you.

Day 2: God's Unfair Grace Reading: Psalm 103:8-12 Devotional: Today's passage reminds us that God doesn't treat us as our sins deserve. His grace is unfair - in our favor! Consider the depth of God's forgiveness toward you. How far has He removed your transgressions? Now think about someone who has wronged you. How can you extend this same "unfair" grace to them? Ask God to help you see others through His eyes of mercy and to give you the courage to offer grace, even when it doesn't feel fair.

Day 3: The Flow of Forgiveness Reading: Ephesians 4:31-32 Devotional: Paul instructs us to forgive others just as Christ has forgiven us. Forgiveness isn't meant to stop with us; it should flow through us to others. Reflect on how freely God's forgiveness flows to you. Are there any blockages preventing that forgiveness from flowing through you to others? Ask God to remove any bitterness, anger, or resentment that might be damming up the flow of His grace in your life.

Day 4: Faith to Forgive Reading: Matthew 17:20-21 Devotional: The disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith when faced with the challenge of repeated forgiveness. Sometimes, forgiving others requires more faith than we think we have. But Jesus teaches that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. What "mountain" of unforgiveness are you facing? Bring it before God today. Ask Him to increase your faith, believing that with God, all things are possible - even forgiving the seemingly unforgivable.

Day 5: Forgiveness Sets You Free Reading: Colossians 3:12-14 Devotional: Today's passage encourages us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, and forgiveness. Holding onto unforgiveness is like wearing heavy chains. When we choose to forgive, we're not just releasing the other person - we're setting ourselves free. Reflect on any grudges or resentments you're carrying. How are they weighing you down? Visualize yourself laying these burdens at the foot of the cross. Ask God for the courage to let go, trusting that His love can heal every wound and restore every relationship.
