Tough Questions week 3 : Why Can't I Stop

Aug 17, 2025

Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on todays message:

Day 1: The Power of God's Grace Reading: Titus 2:11-14 Devotional: God's grace is more than just forgiveness - it's a transformative power in our lives. Today's passage reminds us that grace not only offers salvation but also teaches us to live godly lives. Reflect on areas where you've been trying to change through sheer willpower. How might surrendering to God's grace make a difference? Remember, the same grace that saved you is the grace that sustains you daily. Ask God to help you rely more on His grace and less on your own efforts.

Day 2: Inward Change, Outward Results Reading: Matthew 23:25-28 Devotional: Jesus often criticized the religious leaders for focusing solely on outward appearances while neglecting their hearts. True change begins from within. Consider areas in your life where you might be "cleaning the outside of the cup" without addressing the inner issues. What would it look like to invite God to cleanse you from the inside out? Pray for God's Spirit to work deeply in your heart, transforming your desires and motivations.

Day 3: Strength in Weakness Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 Devotional: Our culture often equates weakness with failure, but God's kingdom operates differently. Paul learned that it was in his weakness that God's power was perfectly displayed. What weaknesses or struggles are you facing right now? Instead of being discouraged by them, try viewing them as opportunities for God's grace to shine through. How might embracing your weaknesses actually lead to greater spiritual strength?

Day 4: The Courage to Be Honest Reading: 1 John 1:5-10 Devotional: Honesty is the first step towards healing and change. Today's passage encourages us to "walk in the light" - to be truthful with God and others about our struggles. Is there an area of your life you've been keeping in the dark? Remember, God's grace provides a safe space for vulnerability. Consider sharing your struggle with a trusted friend or mentor. As you bring things into the light, pray for God's cleansing and restoring power.

Day 5: Grace Abounds Reading: Romans 5:20-21 Devotional: Where sin increases, grace increases all the more. What a powerful promise! No matter how great our failures or how persistent our struggles, God's grace is always greater. Reflect on areas where you feel overwhelmed by sin or temptation. How does the promise of abundant grace change your perspective? Thank God for His inexhaustible grace, and ask Him to help you live from a place of grace rather than guilt or fear.
