Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide:

Day 1: Embracing God's Forgiveness Reading: 2 Corinthians 7:8-11 Devotional: God's forgiveness is a transformative gift, not just a simple pardon. Today's passage speaks of "godly sorrow" that leads to repentance and salvation. Reflect on areas in your life where you may be holding onto guilt or shame. How might God be calling you to experience His forgiveness more fully? Remember, true repentance isn't about wallowing in shame, but about turning towards God's grace and allowing it to change you. Pray for the courage to fully accept God's forgiveness and the strength to forgive yourself.

Day 2: From Failure to Purpose Reading: Luke 22:54-62, John 21:15-19 Devotional: Peter's story of denial and restoration is a powerful reminder of God's redemptive love. Despite Peter's failure, Jesus didn't abandon him but restored him to purpose. Consider times when you've felt you've failed God. How does Peter's story speak to your situation? Jesus asks Peter, "Do you love me?" and follows with a command to serve. How might God be calling you to move past your failures and into His purpose for your life? Take time to reaffirm your love for Christ and ask Him to reveal how you can serve Him today.

Day 3: Overcoming Shame Reading: Romans 8:1-2, 31-39 Devotional: Shame is a tool of the enemy, but God's love is more powerful. Today's passage reminds us that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Meditate on the truth that nothing can separate you from God's love. Are there areas where you're allowing shame to define you rather than God's love? Write down any negative self-talk you've been believing and counter each statement with a truth from Scripture about your identity in Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you live from a place of acceptance rather than shame.

Day 4: Living in Freedom Reading: Galatians 5:1, 13-25 Devotional: Christ has set us free, but freedom isn't just about escaping sin—it's about living fully for God. Reflect on areas where you might be using your freedom as an excuse to indulge the flesh rather than serve in love. How can you use your freedom to grow in the fruit of the Spirit? Choose one aspect of the fruit of the Spirit to focus on today, asking God to help you grow in this area as you walk in the freedom He's given you.

Day 5: God's Ongoing Work in Us Reading: Philippians 1:3-11 Devotional: God isn't finished with us yet. Today's passage reminds us that the good work God has begun in us, He will carry on to completion. Think about your spiritual journey—where have you seen God's transforming work in your life? Where do you still need growth? Take heart that God is committed to your spiritual development. Write a prayer of thanksgiving for God's ongoing work in your life and ask for His help in areas where you still struggle. Remember, your past mistakes don't define your future in Christ.
